Slow Muscle Recovery & Its Correlation with Grip StrengthA video created by the fitness Youtuber “Athlean X” showcases how an experiment with grip strength can tell you about recovery. This is used to understand if a athlete needs more recovery or less. Throughout the video, he explains an uncostly method for an athlete to test. For the materials used it is a bathroom scale. Which is then used to put your fingers behind, with your thumb gripping the front side. Then squeeze has fiercely as you can. The weight showing is the amount of pressure an athlete is creating to measure his grip strength. Then the athlete does this consistently to measure results. After a week one can see progression or regression if you have recovered from a workout fully or not. The athlete can set goals and collect data to understand if he/she is recovering well.My understanding of this experiment is if my grip strength is stagnating or deteriorating, and my progress in the gym slows down. Then I can make the correlation on how well I’m recovering. To conclude, Athlean X Created a video to determine if your progressing in the gym by checking your grip strength. Which can tell one if you are recovering well from your intensity in the gym.
